Strong Citadel clubs, district representatives and alumni with a strong voice are integral to a well functioning alumni association.
Our job as leaders is first to listen and understand, and then to execute. This is how I work professionally and how I have worked within the civic groups which I have been involved with for many years.
The Citadel Club of Charleston is as strong as it is because of the work that we, as a group have put into it. The ideas the members and directors have developed and executed, along with the efforts of all members have created a large, vibrant and sustainable force in The Citadel community.

OPEN LETTER TO ALUMNI:
All,
The Citadel Alumni Association Elections start NEXT WEEK! As you know, I’ve been working to improve our school for many years and my team and I have had some awesome success! We’ve helped numerous “on campus” institutions to grow and prosper through hard work and donations. We have worked to find new and highly functional solutions to the problems that have held us back in the past and, most importantly, we have continued to manage those solutions and seen the long term benefits of them!
- We are currently working on a solution to our membership recruitment problem by making the option to join the Alumni Association built right into either the bills they get from the school or their paperwork for ordering their ring. This is such a simple idea that, once it’s correctly implemented, it’ll have an actual, positive impact on our annual membership drive with recent alumni. We have nearly 100% participation in buying a ring, why can’t we get close to that with our life membership program? This idea helps get us there!
- My work with the CAA Communications Committee has contributed to the recent flurry of new, timely and informative calls and emails that the CAA has been sending. We listened to you! We are bringing you the value that an Alumni Association is supposed to bring, we are keeping you informed about your school!
- The
Big Red Committee is doing a better job protecting our flag and our trademarks.
We are tracking our licensees better and controlling the merchandise that is
being sold. We are working with the school to keep potentially hurtful slogans
and items from being sold and working to inform The Citadel Family of the
benefits of buying Big Red items and the support we get from these sales.
- These are actually programs and ideas that my team and I have created and are managing.
The CAA will send out Election Ballots both electronically and by US mail on August 1st. Please call or email today to confirm which of these ballot options you’ll be receiving.

Please help us spread the word, “Vote Jay Wallace for Vice President.” I have a proven track record of working hard and producing results that benefit our members. I have found solutions to difficult problems and have proven those solutions to be effective. I can and I WILL make our association better.
I have been the President of the Charleston Citadel Club for 5 years now. We have taken it from a small club with about 50 members to nearly 500 members and an over $200,000 annual budget. We average 40 events per year that serve thousands of people.
- We have created and operated a large Veterans Charity fishing tournament that is now a prominent part of the Charleston community and continues to bring credit to The Citadel and raise public awareness about our school’s values.
- We have been able to raise and donate nearly $100,000 to organizations on The Citadels campus and throughout our Charleston community.
I don’t just visit clubs, I support them. I work their leadership to help them grow. I bring training, ideas, processes and software to them and help them use it, LONG TERM. I am not a person that simply shows up and waives, I stick around and help. Please vote and help me to encourage your classmates and others in our Citadel Family to vote as well.
Call them, email them, send them a text message, please help me get the word out!
Feel free call to me with any and all questions and, more especially, with suggestions on areas that could use improvement!
Thank you for all that you do for Alma Mater!
Please don’t hesitate to call me with any questions, 843.259.1660 or email at Info@JWallace.info
